1. Describe the objects or people in the cartoon. There is a train with two locomotives. One of the locomotives represents Russia and the other one Europe. Both of them share a cart, which is Ukraine. There are also two men who yell all aboard, each one of them have a side of the train to attend. 2. Describe the action taking place in the cartoon. The train that is in middle of a snowed field, has actually two locomotives, which are connected to a one single cart. There are also two men outside of the train yelling “All aboard”, because apparently the train is about to leave. 3. Identify at least two techniques that the cartoonist used and explain what ideas are conveyed through each technique. a.Labels: The train with two locomotives are labeled. One represents Russia and the other one represents Europa. The middle cart is labeled with “Ukrainia”. b.Analog: The train with two locomotive. This train has to eventually start, so in the moment they start pulling on their side, the train will collapse and will be divided, this division will affect the people inside of the train and all that surrounds them. 4. What is the message of the cartoon? This cartoon´s main intention is to express the political and social issues that are occurring in Ukraine. This issue is based on the internal conflict of the citizens between having a strong relationship with Russia or with Europa, because once decided the relationship they want to keep close, there might be consequences especially with Russia. | 1. Describe the objects or people in the cartoon. There are two men from EU and Russia. They trying to set the criteria of their boundary toward Ukraine. Finally they count each other and treat them as an enemy. 2. Describe the action taking place in the cartoon. Two men from the EU and Russia caution each other. They want to enlarge their territory toward Ukraine. And when they meet on there, they treat each other as an enemy. 3. Symbolism: Cartoonists may use simple objects to represent larger ideas or concepts. – Put the Big image of that and put the name of the represent. b. Labels: Cartoonists often identify or name certain things in their cartoons so that it is apparent what the things represent. - It shows the apparent situation between EU and Russia. 4. What is the message of the cartoon? Ukraine stuck between Russia and EU. The reason why, is because I love knowing the core of the issue of a conflict. If we go there, it is so easy to identify the problem the flows of the intents of solution. These cartoons demonstrate that, only with a touch of humor. |
